6 Best Methods To Dry Out Weed Fast

Let’s go over the fastest and easiest ways you can quickly dry your weed and get it ready to smoke.

Some ways are more reliable or faster than others, but all of the below options will work just fine.

1. Use A Dehumidifier

The first option you have is to use a dehumidifier to dry out your wet weed fast. If you have a dehumidifier laying around, it’s probably the number one fastest option to go with.

Simply place the weed in front of the intake of your dehumidifier, turn it on full blast, and let it work for a few hours.

A good dehumidifier should be able to suck the moisture right out of your chronic within 2 or 3 hours at most.

If you have a lot of weed that needs drying, you can always hang it up in a small and enclosed room, with the dehumidifier running inside of that room. A small closet is going to work best in this case.

2. Take Advantage Of The Sun

Another way to dry your wet weed fast is to take advantage of the natural power of the sun.

Have you ever had a wet bathing suit that just would not dry in the shade, but after just a few minutes in the sun it was almost bone dry?

Yes, the sun can also dry out your weed, not just your swimming trunks. To do this, put your weed on something like a baking tray, spread it out evenly, and let it sit out in the sun for a few hours.

This should be more than enough to dry the weed, especially if it is a relatively hot and dry day.

Do remember that this works best in dry climates because a high level of humidity in the air won’t do you any favors here.

3. Put It In A Bag Of Rice

The next method you can take advantage of to dry your weed fast is to stick some big buds in a bag of rice.

How To Dry Weed With Rice;

Yes, if you have gotten your cellphone wet before, you know that a bag of rice has the ability to such the moisture right out of the electronic components, and yes, this works for your weed buds as well.

However, do keep in mind that this will not take a few hours, but more like a day or two at least.

If you go this route, count on leaving bigger buds in a bag of rice for about 2 days until it is sufficiently dry to smoke.

Do also keep in mind here that you only want to do this with larger buds.

Having really small nugs, like little popcorn nugs, is not convenient for this, because you will end up having to separate small buds of weed from rice.

4. Hang It In A Dry & Well Ventilated Area

This is another way you can quickly dry your weed, although it is not the fastest of all options out there.

This is something you might do if you have a really large quantity of pot that needs to be dried, such as if you just got done growing.

Hang up all of your weed using some rope or string, which does really only work if it is still on the branches, turn on a fan, and let the natural air flow do its thing.

Keep in mind that this will take a few days, and it’s really only something you would do if you have a large quantity that needs drying.

5. Carefully Use Your Oven

If you have a moderate quantity of weed that needs to be dried fast, like in a few minutes because you are itching to smoke a nice joint right now, the oven is another method you can go with.

Keep in mind here that you do not want to turn the oven up very high, as excessive temperatures will kill the THC, and you won’t get high or feel any effects when you smoke it.

To dry your weed in the oven, use a normal baking pan or baking tray, spread your weed out evenly on it, and place it in an oven that is heated to no more than 180 degrees Fahrenheit.

No, many ovens do not even go this low, so a good idea when doing this is to keep the door of the oven slightly open to keep letting some heat out.

This is a bit of an iffy method because if you have the oven too hot, or leave the weed in for too long, you can actually dry it out way too much and mess with the THC content.

Keep checking on it every 5 or 10 minutes if you are going to do this.

6. A Blow Dryer On Low

Ok, so of course you cannot grind up some weed and expect to blow dry it. Even smaller buds will be blown away by a hair dryer, even on its low setting.

However, if you have some large buds, over 1.5 or 2 grams, you can use the low setting on your hair dryer to blast some warm air at them.

How long this is going to take to dry your weed will depend on the level of moisture, the weight, and the density of your weed.

Don’t Smoke Wet Weed!

smoking weed

What you do need to know is that smoking wet weed is not fun for several reasons. Why don’t you want to smoke wet weed?

  • It is very hard to grind or break down fine enough to be able to roll it or stick it into any kind of smoking device.
  • Wet weed tends to have a really funny taste that is less than enjoyable.
  • If your weed has been wet for quite some time, it might have mold on it. Keep in mind that drying moldy weed is not going to kill the mold spores!
  • Smoking wet weed just does not work well. Have you ever tried to light a joint and keep it from going out with wet weed inside of that rolling paper? Yeah, it does not work very well!

How To Dry A Wet Blunt Fast

There are a few different ways to dry a wet blunt fast. One of these ways is to put that blunt in the microwave. It only takes a few seconds for a blunt to fully dry in the microwave.

There is also the added benefit that it makes a blunt firmer and often makes it burn better. Another way to quickly dry a blunt is by using a hairdryer. Just make sure to hold the blunt firmly so it does not blow away.

This final method is a long shot, but if you happen to have a fruit drying machine (AKA a fruit dehydrator), which is used to turn fresh fruit into dried fruit, using this would also work.

How To Dry Weed In The Microwave

Drying weed in the microwave is actually quite simple. First, grind the weed as small as can be. Albeit, this might be difficult if you have whole buds that are wet.

With your weed ground as finely as possible, place it on a microwave safe plate. Make sure that the layer of weed is very thin.

The thinner the layer, the better this will work. Then, take some dry paper towel and place it on top of the weed, ensuring that it fully covers everything.

Now, turn your microwave to roughly 30% power, and then turn it on for 10 to 12 seconds. Your weed should now be fully dry, and if it isn’t just nuke it for another few seconds.

Does Dry Weed Lose Potency?

Dry weed does not necessarily lose potency, at least not for some time. Weed that is properly stored should stay perfectly potent for six to twelve months.

If you keep it in a dark and cool airtight container, even the dryest of weed should remain potent for quite some time.

Of course, if you are drying weed with a microwave, make sure to not set it too hot, or else you will burn the THC right out of it.

How to Quickly Dry a Sample Bud

If you want to quickly dry a sample bud of your freshly grown crop so you can cure and smoke it, a good way to do so is by leaving it in a very small room with a dehumidifier. A good dehumidifier will be able to suck the moisture right out of that bud in just a few hours, a day at the most.

If you don’t have a dehumidifier, another good way is to break the buds up into smaller buds, and then place them in a dry and sunny area. The sun will do a good job at drying out your weed, although the humidity level does need to be fairly low.

Another good option is to get some airflow into the mix. If you happen to have a good air fan, set it in front of your buds, while of course ensuring that it does not blow away.

If your house is heated with central air, the warm air coming out of those vents will do the trick as well. If all else fails, something like a food dehydrator used to dry fruit will work as well.

Conclusion

There you have it folks, six different ways to dry wet weed as fast as possible. Personally, we would recommend going with the dehumidifier as it is the fastest way to go.

All of the methods here work just fine, and it all really depends on your own personal preference.
