If you just got a new THC cartridge for your vaporizer, you’re probably excited to see what it feels like. That being said, sometimes those vaporizer cartridges don’t hit or work at all. So, why is my new cartridge not hitting?

The most common reason for a new cart not hitting is due to the holes being clogged with oil that has hardened, meaning there isn’t any airflow for it to work properly. It could also be due to the coil not being primed, the battery not being charged, or simply that the cart or vape is broken.

9 Reasons Your New Cart Is Not Hitting

As you can tell by the highlighting, there are quite a few different reasons why the cartridge for your new vaporizer isn’t working, so let’s take a look.

1. The Holes Are Clogged

The main reason why you’re in vape cartridge might not be hitting is due to the fact that the holes are clogged with oil. If oil has hardened in the holes, there won’t be any airflow, and therefore you won’t be able to use it.

Therefore, try rubbing the cartridge in between your hands or heating it up with an air dryer to make the oil flow better and move out of the holes. You may also be able to use something like a safety pick or a toothpick to pick oil out of the hole.

2. The Coil Might Not Be Primed

If you also just got a new vaporizer, it means that the coil might not yet be primed. In other words, just like with a water pump, you first need to pull something through it in order to activate it.

Therefore, you might want to try taking a few dry hits off of the cartridge without the battery connected. You can also try gently blowing into it, and this should prime it to the point where it can then intake that awesome THC oil.

3. Battery Issues

Another common reason why your new vape cartridge might not be hitting actually has to do with the vaporizer itself. Here, we mean that the battery for your vaporizer might not be fully charged, or the vaporizer might not actually be turned on.

Therefore, make sure that the battery is functioning, fully charged, and that the vaporizer unit is actually turned on. (Blinking can also cause battery issues).

4. Contact Issues

The next reason is that there is not enough contact between the battery and the cartridge itself. If you keep removing the cartridge and replacing it, there might not be enough contact between the two points two create an electrical circuit.

Therefore, you might need to pull the contact up very slightly with something like a paper clip, a pen cap, or a fingernail, until it is level.

5. Issues With The Battery Contact

It may also be the case that there is an issue with the battery contact. If the battery does not touch the coil in the vaporizer, then you are going to have issues.

It may be the case that this contact is clogged, water that is coated with THC oil from your previous vaporizer cartridge. If this is the case, so Q-tip in some rubbing alcohol, wipe down the portion that connects the battery to the rest of the cartridge, and then let it dry.

Also, on that note, make sure that you don’t over-tighten the cartridge.

6. Temperature Issues

If you have a vaporizer cartridge that allows you to adjust the temperature, it might be the case that the temperature is set too high.

If this is the case, your vaporizer cartridge might not allow you to pull from it. If you notice that the temperature on your vaporizer is set to a very high degree, just try turning it down a little bit and see if that works.

7. Condensation Issues

The next reason why your vaporizer cartridge might not be working is due to a buildup of condensation inside of the chamber. If you notice that you get liquid in your mouth, or just doesn’t pull at all, condensation might have built up in the airway.

If this is the case, you will want to start taking smaller hits, and also take some dry hits. You may also clean the mouthpiece to try to solve this issue.

8. The Cartridge is Faulty

It may also be the case that the cartridge for your vaporizer that you just bought is simply faulty. There may be issues with the connection on the inside, with the airway, or with the holes that pull in the THC oil.

Whatever the case maybe, if the cartridge is faulty, there is not much you can do, and you will need to either replace it or get the refund.

9. Your Vaporizer Is Broken

There are also some cases where the vaporizer that you are using is just broken. If this is the case, it’s actually not the cartridge that is the issue, but the vaporizer itself, in which case you will then need to get a new vaporizer.

Conclusion

However, if it’s not something that you can take care of on your own and the cartridge is just broken, you should be able to bring it back to the place where you bought it to get a refund or a replacement. Therefore, always keep your receipt.
